It's a bit silly how Kay treats her brother, but not completely unbelievable.Ĭhapter 5-8 is about Kay's parents relationship, I wasn't a fan at first, again very heavy handed with pushing the messages it has to tell you, I was kind of rolling my eyes for a while, but at the end of the section during the boss fight, something about it made me change my feelings, while still heavy handed it kind of surprised me with how they decided to end the conflict between them.Ĭhapter 9-10 sees you dealing with your boyfriend and relationship with, at first I was worried that he was just going to be an abusive jerk and Kay had to just see it, but I was glad that it didn't go that route, instead of him just being a scumbag he just needed to work on himself, and wants to not have to lean on Kay, I thought it was really sweet that he tells Kay to take care of herself at the end. Again the visuals were really good, and they fit the narrative very well. Then you get an interact button, or a 'look towards monster' to know where it is.Ĭhapter 1 is tutorial and introduction, chapter 2-4 follows your character learning about the issues Kay's brother had, that Kay ignored. Besides the jumping and moving you have a flare that you can fire, which is mostly used to tell you where to go. The platforming sections are okay, nothing to write home about really, you can jump and walk around, I feel like there should have been faster movement. The gameplay itself (USING A CONTROLLER) is fine, it's really simple there are basically two modes, the first one being in your boat, which I enjoyed driving it around, you just drive it around a few obstacles here and there, but it's fun. I beat the game but did not get all the trophies. I'm going to get into spoilers for each section after this, There are 12 chapters, and about four separate sections and the game itself will take you just under 3 hours. I also felt that the 'message' is kinda, very heavy handed. That being said, it's pretty easy, the only times I died was due to clunky controls, they're not awful, but if you die, it'll most likely be the controls at fault. It has really good visuals, and it is a bit stressful as you try not to get one shot by the aquatic monster that is constantly taunting you. But it's not a deal breaker for me.Īs for the content of the game itself. I don't like that I REQUIRE Origin to play it. You need origin if you want to play that. The keyboard and mouse controls are hot garbo, if you play this game you need a controller or it's really not worth playing. Two things before I get into my feelings about the game itself.
